Indieversa™
Local Selling & Shopping Made Easier
For Restaurateurs...
Sourcing locally is more than doubly tough. Where you can source locally, Indieversa will make it easier and help you tell that story.
Interactive & Printable Menus
Unlimited digital menus, customizable and assignable by date, location, or even hours (e.g. a brunch menu), dynamically updated to reflect the pricing and availability for that date, venue, or period. Caterers can create menus specific to customers and could even take seat-specific orders in advance.
For items you purchased from producers using Indieversa, include a note and link to their product story on your dynamic menus. Their story expands your story and your story is the experience that makes you stand out.
Customizable Ordering Experience
3 ordering experiences for your customers... you choose which to use:
Your Pantry
Buy ingredients from other members using Indieversa and you can track them in your pantry. Then dynamically tag those ingredients in your menus to incorporate the story of those artisanal products.
Coming on request... add ingredients to your pantry and have Indieversa drive inventory for products made with those ingredients.
Other notable features
Integrated "kitchen" and "handoff" screens to coordinate the workflow.
Add team members with access limited to POS vs. the rest of your vendor features. Track receipts by team member.
Elect to defer card charges until overnight to facilitate price adjustments and minimize refunds.
Customizeable price adjustments by product integrated into the menus.
For Artisanal Growers...
Indieversa was designed initially around the needs of an artisanal farmer selling at multiple venues per week, and around the farmers market experience: multiple artisanal producers coming together to create a market with enough products to attract sufficient foot traffic for each of the participants to make a living.
The basics
Manage your product catalog via the web page or in bulk with a spreadsheet.
Pricing and availability easily configured by date and location for multiple concurrent locations. Private pricing by customer list for volume buyers. Sales reporting by date, location, or customer.
Customizable Inventory Models
Are you a baker who can make a fixed number of donuts fresh each day? You would probably set your donut inventory to reset to that amount automatically for each date.
Are you a seller of meats with a fixed number of rib-eye steaks in the freezer? You would probably set your inventory of rib-eye steaks to be fungible across all of your storefronts and order fulfillment dates.
Do you offer volume discounts? You might concurrently list a 10-head bundle in the private access area of your store and a single-head option in the general access area of your store. If you have 1000 heads of lettuce, Indieversa will automatically show 1000 of the singles and 100 available of the 10-head bundle. If a single head is purchased, Indieversa will then show 999 singles and 99 of the 10-head bundles.
One account, many storefronts
Sell at different locations concurrently or sequentially? Indieversa organizes that for you. When you join collaborations like farmers markets or holiday fairs, your products show on your store and on the collaboration host's store simultaneously.
Easily set variable pricing and availability by venue or date.
Other notable features
No farmers market in your town? Start one. The Indieversa store is designed to facilitate collaborative markets.
Sell to local restaurants? If they use Indieversa, they can dynamically showcase ingredients purchased from you in their menus, bringing your story to their customers to enhance their customer experience.
Choose to immediately process online orders with cards or instead to approve the card but defer the charge... helpful if you sell by weight and do not know the final weight until you pick the item.
Easily manage taxes by venue and product.
For Collaborative & Consignment Markets...
For a farmers market or consignment venue, Indieversa is a dream come true. Indieversa makes it easy for independent businesses to collaborate and create economies of scale for buyers... think farmers markets, collaborative home delivery services running weekly routes, and consignment stores.
Other online marketplaces require the sellers to manage their product catalog and pricing in a place that is specific to the marketplace, which causes the seller to have to manage all of that in 2 places... the seller's main website and store plus the marketplace. Indieversa flips that script... sellers manage their catalog and pricing in one account and can simultaneously list those products in the online stores of the collaborations they join with literally zero extra effort.
The basics
Market managers configure the pickup or delivery specifics, including access by participants and ordering or delivery fees. Participants manage their own product catalogs, availability, and pricing.
Customers visiting the market store see products from participants, their logos, and can place a single order for items from each of the participants.
Collaboration managers can customize the service provided by the market, whether that's aggregated bagging of orders potentially for curbside pickup or delivery, or the traditional market model where customers pick up their items from individual booths.
Simplified cash management
Vendors can take online or on-site orders without credit cards (and associated fees), or easily connect/open their own Stripe account to process online and on-site orders.
Customers placing an order for items from multiple participants check out once while Indieversa processes each seller's own proceeds with Stripe individually behind the scenes.
When cards are used, Stripe processes sales and remits proceeds directly to each seller's own bank account. Neither the Indieversa team nor any hosts of collaborative markets touch vendors' cash. POS connectivity for other popular card processors coming very soon.
Free for non-profits and sponsored participants
Non-profits and Advanced-level accounts may sponsor the accounts of other members, allowing them limited access to Indieversa for free. Our guiding desire is to help independent, artisanal producers get their legs under them.
For Hobby Sellers...
Indieversa will introduce you to a re-imagined indie seller experience. We have a few fun ideas in play and a few more in the works.
Permanence
Tired of re-listing because it expired? Or to get the listing back to the top of some painful list? Flip the script and create your own personal store to list the things you trade. No merchant services account required.
Integrated Chat
Hobby sellers find the integrated chat features game-changing in terms of communicating with prospective customers.
For entrepreneurs
Don't like how that other marketplace operates? Interested in charting a better course for your hobby? We can help you start your own business curating a Super Community Marketplace for your niche.
For Independent Retail...
Small, independent businesses lose on price and convenience, but win on quality and community in our contemporary consumer-driven culture. Indieversa and the Super Communities within the Indie Shopping Verse will level the playing field on the convenience angle without adding to the price challenge, both for consumers and for businesses.
Local Marketplace + Democratized last-mile delivery = winning convenience
If it were as easy to find what is available in our own neighborhood, most consumers would prefer to buy locally. The effort to search has become the gate for many consumer shopping behaviors.
Indieversa is designed not just to help independent retail businesses stand up, but also independent last-mile entrepreneurs. We want to see communities thriving on their relationships and quality and our tech is designed to make that happen.
2D scanning
Connect a wireless or wired scanner to read barcodes or QR codes, or use the camera on your phone or tablet to scan QR codes.
Print QR code labels by product for scanning.
In stock?
Manage your product catalog and inventory individually or many-at-once with a spreadsheet.
Fungible or segregated inventory for online vs on-site sales.
Flexibility to combine standard stock with a consignment model... grow your foot traffic by hosting indie maker products in your community. It's all possible.
De-centralized Last Mile Delivery...
The Indieversa store is great for creating collaborative virtual stores for delivery. For entrepreneurial individuals able to build trust with small businesses in their community, creatively curated collections of local businesses would make for viable competition against major online retailers. Why work for some tech company when you can work for yourself?
The basics
Indieversa gives you the flexibility to create and customize delivery routes. It also gives you the ability to allow other members to join your delivery routes and add their products to your delivery service offering. As the host of the delivery service, you control which businesses can participate, optional fees for the delivery service, and to which zip codes you will deliver. A weekly delivery route that includes stops at a convenience store, toy stores, hardware stores, etc. will find regular customers.
Tools to simplify
Bag numbers, packing slips, printable labels... Indieversa keeps you organized, most importantly by simplifying the cash management directly with your participants. Last-mile entrepreneurs are free to focus their energy on the value they provide... coordinating reliable arrival times and safekeeping during transit.
Flexibility
Whether you are building a delivery business, exploring a side hustle, or running a non-profit that delivers to people with mobility limitations, last-mile delivery is the greatest hurdle to local shopping and Indieversa is ready to make it happen with you.

Online checkout, on-site checkout, & Banking
Every vendor account requires an account with Stripe for online orders with a card, but also has the ability to accept online orders without requiring up-front payment with a card. If you don't have a Stripe account and want to enable or require online payment by card, we'll take you to Stripe where the process to open one can take just a few minutes... assuming you have your business tax ID and bank details in hand.
For processing payments with customer and card present, you can use the same Stripe account or you can connect a Square account.
In both cases, Stripe and Square deposit your sale proceeds directly in your account less their standard fees. The #Indieversa team does not charge commissions on member sales.
You can also mark orders as paid in cash when desired, so that you can manage both online and on-site orders with Indieversa without requiring payment by card at any point.
Indieversa is not designed to have access to your bank account beyond connecting to your Stripe or Square account to process credit and debit card transactions on your behalf. Refunds are managed directly in your Stripe account or Square account.
Local communities within the verse
Indie Shopping Verse
Indieversa is a focused community within the Indie Shopping Verse. The Indie Shopping Verse is envisioned to foster geographically centric communities, as well as interest-based communities.
Local curation
The Indieversa team manages the technology, while the super community team coordinates and supports the users of Indieversa within their community.
Together, we are committed to making Indieversa the best selling and shopping experience possible.
Entrepreneurs Wanted
The Indieversa team operates Montclairius, but our vision is for entrepreneurs seeking a better local online shopping ecosystem in their own neighborhood to create it using Indieversa and the Indie Shopping Verse.
Franchise owners are offered 93% of member account subscription revenue in excess of server costs for the first $100k, after which their incremental share is 70%.
Verse without limits
Indieversa is primarily designed around geographic relevance... example: Montclairius is centered around local shopping in Montclair, NJ. Indieversa is also useful for creating marketplaces by hobby or interest.
